Robert W. Jewkes Partner
Mr. Jewkes is a solicitor admitted in England, Hong Kong, and the Australian Capital Territory. He was formerly the Resident Manager of the Asian Practice Group of Bryan Cave in association with Jewkes Chan & Partners, and the Senior Partner in Asia of Denton Hall, a major international law firm based in London, and in that capacity established the regional offices of that firm in Hong Kong, Singapore and Bangkok.
Mr. Jewkes has over 25 years experience of advising clients with their investments and business activities in Asia and has significant experience with cross-border transactions. His clients include numerous leading companies in Hong Kong, China and various other regions within Asia, and government organizations and foreign corporations which have links or business activities within China. He advises clients on both contentious and non-contentious matters.
He has been involved in a significant number of infrastructure projects throughout Asia, including the Hong Kong Western Harbor Crossing and Tate's Cairn Tunnel, the North South Interurban Expressway and Penang Bridge Privatization in Malaysia as well as a number of other privatized power and transport projects in China.
He represents a number of private equity investors and has particular experience in structuring investments and establishing private equity funds in Asia on behalf of those clients.
He is a legal adviser to the Hong Kong Construction Association and to the International Federation of Asian and Western Pacific Contractors Associations. He has frequently spoken at conferences around the world on construction law and trade and investment matters.
